Brass hardware and fixtures for kitchens and bathrooms
Several years ago when I first noticed brass hardware appearing in 'fashion forward' kitchens and bathrooms, I had no idea that it would become as mainstream as it has. It's often paired with gray cabinets which are a lovely compliment.
I'm currently working on a design project for an adorable young family. The project scope includes a remodel of the entire first floor – kitchen, family room, dining room, powder room and laundry as well as new furnishings, lighting, accessories, etc. I'm really excited about how it's shaping up! Here is a sneak peek at some of the kitchen selections so far…
Moroccan style crackle finish tile in creamy white for the backsplash.
Gray shaker cabinetry. We're actually using two colors – one for the perimeter wall cabinets and another for the island. There will be two different countertop materials as well. SO pretty!
A modern pull-down faucet in brushed brass.
Aren't these the most GORGEOUS brushed brass pulls?!
We use Pinterest quite a bit to swap ideas and created an online binder of what we have selected. If you are interested in following the board, click here.
Speaking of Pinterest, which I now can't imagine life without, the most pinned photo I have ever taken or had pinned from my blog is this one… There is one string that has over 2,000 repins. And lo and behold, it just happens to be brass hardware and gray cabinets! I took it over 2 years ago on my birthday weekend in wine country.
While I was sourcing kitchen faucets for my clients, I came across a few that I love, but passed on for this job. I bookmarked them for future reference. I hope I get to use them in other projects soon! In case you are on the hunt too, here they are.

Happy mid-week to you!
Love the combination of gray and unlaquered brass! I just redid my powder room with that very combination!!
Gorgeous! Can’t wait to see the finished product! Love the interesting note you are hitting between the classic and mid-century modern. Please post before and after photos when you are done!
You are doing a stunning job on that kitchen. I can’t wait to see it. I love brass and gray. Funny though, just when everyone has managed to change all of their hardware from brass, it figures that back we go again. 🙂 It is different this time though. Better quality and nicer looking I think. Not that builder’s brass that they installed by the truckload in houses in the 70’s and 80’s.
I want the nickle pulls and knobs! do you know what brand they are so I can try and find them? Love you blog 🙂
Hi Julie,
Unfortunately, I don’t know who makes them! I would recommend showing the photo to a seller of high end home fixtures and seeing if they can source it… Wish I could be more specific! Thank you for the sweet words!

Ok, so I’m stressing the heck out on my kitchen renovation! I have a quintessential Brooklyn brownstone with an open floorplan main floor 11ft ceilings by 17ft wide kitchen which opens up to a balcony overlooking the backyard which means lots of light with hardly any separation between the diningroom, livingroom, and kitchen. I’m going with Omega/Dinasty semi-custom and custom inset cabinets with some beading but minimal embellishments. I am torn between the Dove Grey, Magnolia, Pure White and Pearl White colors. I like the Dove Grey and have fallen in heavy like with Caesarstone’s Nobel Grey (new color) but I they blend together too much and Omega’s Pearl White looks great against the Nobel Grey as well however I’m not sure that white cabinets under an almost grey countertop is appropriate… Oh, did I mention this kitchen along with the diningroom will be the backdrop for my wedding reception?!?!?! Eeeeeeks…
