First stop: Austin, TX
Well, hi or should I say Hey, y'all! We just got home from our road trip through the South It was amazing. We had very limited access to the internet, thus no posts for a really long time! Here are some of the highlights from Texas…
Great country music at Antone's.
Mama, don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys…
Whimsical copper weathervane's.
As we were leaving Austin and heading to New Orleans I noticed on the map that we would be passing by Round Top, TX. It took me a minute to think of why Round Top sounded familiar… Then I remembered – it's the location of a new project by Shabby Chic creator, Rachel Ashwell! She recently purchased a piece of property and has opened an inn called The Prairie, decorated of course in her signature style. I tried to call them to see if we could take a quick tour, but we couldn't get a signal, so we just took a chance. It looked like it was just off the freeway, but actually it was miles of this…
And alot of this… All the while, the tension in the car is building.
Finally we found it, but almost didn't since there weren't any signs along the way.
When we got there, I knocked on the office door, but no one answered. I'm not sure they are open yet, although the website says they are. Here are a few photos of the grounds and charming cabins.
Next stop: New Orleans, LA
